Dane Fadul shapes surfboard in Itacaré

Poseidon returns to Itacaré in April to shoot the manufacture of another surfboard. "On our first visit we could only record the interview with the shaper Dane Fadul and the pioneer of surf in Itacaré, Ronaldo Fadul. So we had to return and film the shaper's work and to acquire another surfboard which will be auctioned during the film's release." The idea of the documentary's director Felipe Grossi is auctioning the boards ordered during production and all material used for research on the manufacture of surfboards, such as books, magazines and movies. "I want to raise money to donate to an institution that cares for children with cancer." says the director.

The manufacture of a 5'10" rocket with swallow tail and wings was the model chosen by Dane to surf the waves of Itacaré, which has regular swells due to the shortening of the continental shelf in the region.

The second visit to Itacaré establishes national dimension to the film that now portrays the manufacture of surfboards by shapers in all three regions that make up the Brazilian coast, respectively, with Claudio Pastor in the Southeast, with Avelino Bastos in the South and with Dane Fadul in the Northeast.
